FAAC HOSTS USER CONFERENCE TO BENEFIT
ITS USER COMMUNITY
Sept. 21, 2007 – Ann Arbor, Michigan – FAAC Incorporated is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its 2nd annual User Conference to support its diverse customer base.
The three-day event included simulator users from across the country and abroad representing FAAC’s varied product lines – police, fire and EMS service, transit, and trucking agencies. The event forged bonds among the instructors as they shared the common issues they face and how they have used the power of the simulator to benefit their respective training programs.
Events at the User Conference included presentations (led by FAAC personnel as well as select members of the user community), group discussions, and hands-on interaction with driver simulators. Topic presentations included: Instructor Dynamics, Training Corrective Actions, Simulator Program Start-up, the Multiple Use Simulator, and Simulator Integration. In addition, FAAC representatives conducted demo sessions on new training product enhancements currently under development.
“I took from the conference many tools from FAAC and other users that will greatly enhance our simulator training,” said Dwayne Barnett, Training and Development Coordinator for Challenger Motor Freight. “The speakers provided excellent tips that I’m sure we all benefited from. We can bring these ideas back to our companies and implement them in our own simulators, which will create more effective and time-efficient training tools.“
“Our commitment to the safety of our personnel on the job and to the public on the road are the reasons we train,” said Patrick Tomko, Training Officer for the Madison (WI) Fire Department. “The FAAC User Conference provided a great opportunity to network with peers from other public safety and transportation industries. As a simulator user, it also helped build my confidence as a Trainer.”
“The FAAC User Conference was envisioned to foster community amongst the users from all of our products lines,” said FAAC Executive Vice President Kurt Flosky. “As a result, there was a great exchange regarding the strategic and tactical issues that face a simulator instructor. The collaboration inherent in this event will enable the participants to return to their training sites with new methods and apply best practices to maximize the benefit of their driving simulator.”
FAAC will continue to foster its user community with future workshops, webinars, and networking sessions to strengthen the relationships that were created between the instructors during the conference, both in real-time and through its user website.
