Summary
Performs a variety of general accounting tasks in the accounting department with accent on accounts receivable processing, travel processing and reconciliation of transactions in these accounting areas with related functions and their reporting requirements. Consistency, accuracy, timeliness and a self-directed approach are required for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Processes AR invoicing for all Contract Types (Milestone Billing, T&M, CPFF, and Progress Payments) and generates miscellaneous AR invoices as necessary.
- Submits AR invoices into external systems (WAWF, Exostar, GSA) to affect payment from the customer.
- Reviews AR Aging to determine why customer payment has not been made.
- Processes Cash Receipts and wire payments for all AR Invoicing.
- Enters TER (travel expense report) data into Epicor system.
- Enters Credit Card information into Epicor system.
- Verifies accuracy of A/P invoices and other accounting documents and records, and prepares outgoing checks for payments of vendor invoices . Generates positive pay documentation into the banking system for all weekly checks processed.
- Works with Corporate accountant to verify accuracy of AP Aging.
- Enters and reconciles the company fixed assets into the CMI fixed assets system and reconciles the amounts to the general ledger.
- Reconciles bank statements for the operating account of the company.
- Generates Wire payments to Suppliers using banking system.
- Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies and investigates questionable data.
- Works with Accountant(s) to cross train in the various accounting functions.
- Assists the Controller with other Accounting duties as assigned.

- Frequent use and understanding of accounting principles, concepts and industry practices.
- Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
- Work is performed under general direction rather than specific detailed instructions.
- Ability to multi-task and is deadline oriented.
- Contacts with individuals from all levels in the company, and some outside organizations and vendors.
- Detail oriented, team player ready to take on co-worker’s job if needed.

Knowledge/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent desired, associate’s degree required.
- 1-3 years of related accounting (extensively with A/P and A/R).
- Familiar with standard concepts (US GAAP), practices, and procedures within project mfg. a plus.
- Microsoft Office experience required, with intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience with Epicor applications preferred.
- Experience with DoD environment and the FAR a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required; including month-end and year end hours as business demands dictate.
- Moderate Noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers, light traffic).
Job Type: Full-time Compensation Range: $64,808 – $79,230 (Based on experience)
