Electronics Test Technician II or III DOE

Summary

Setup test apparatus and conduct testing of production electronic assemblies and units following established methods, procedures, standards, and sequences. Basic understanding of electronic circuitry. Occasional heavy lifting of up to 60 pounds may be required.

Responsibilities/Skills

  • Setup and use various measuring and testing devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers)
  • Understand and carry out written instructions
  • Conduct tests and identify component faults
  • Perform troubleshooting utilizing approved drawings and schematics
  • Provide written/verbal instructions to production technicians for making adjustments or replacing parts or components
  • Maintain record of test results with attention to detail
  • Maintain and repair test equipment as needed
  • Interface with other disciplines as may be required in the performance of testing and troubleshooting
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical school training or Associates degree in Electronics is preferred

Experience:

  • Two or more years of experience testing electronic boards and assemblies utilizing measuring and testing devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers) is required
  • Troubleshooting experience, as well as the ability to read schematics and drawings is required
  • Ability to recommend adjustments or replacement components is strongly preferred
  • Must be able to maintain and repair test equipment
