Summary

Designs components, assemblies, or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.  Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents. Digitizes, edits, and revises engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits structures, and/or assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations and prepares original rough layouts, or sketches to present a design proposal.
• Uses SolidWorks to develop layouts, drawings and designs that meet engineering specifications.
• Reviews engineering drawings, analyzes design and retrieves information to complete drawings, layout of design.
• Uses detailed drawing or engineering specifications to dimension, scale or line locate.
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering and manufacturing to ensure conformance to contract specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Problem Solving and Discretion/Latitude

• Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job.
• Limited supervision required.
• No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
• Contacts with all levels of the company. Focus on engineering and production.

Knowledge/Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school training or Associates degree in a related area preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience with SolidWorks production and modification of drawings required.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14 Drawing Standards required.
• 1+ years PDMWorks experience a plus.
• Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities are required.
• Knowledge of MIL-SPEC/STD’s.
• Altium Designer and PCB Design software knowledge preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $76,462 – $85,280
