FAAC Awarded a contract under MDA’s SHIELD IDIQ

Company to contribute advanced modeling, simulation, and decision-support capabilities to homeland defense effort

Ann Arbor, Michigan – January 9, 2026 – FAAC Incorporated, a member of Arotech Corporation’s Training and Simulation Division (ATSD), is pleased to announce it was awarded a contract for the Missile Defense Agency Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a ceiling of $151B. This contract encompasses a broad range of work areas that allows for the rapid delivery of innovative capabilities to the warfighter with increased speed and agility.’The qualification marks a significant opportunity for FAAC to support one of the nation’s most critical emerging defense initiatives.

“SHIELD represents a transformative approach to layered homeland defense, and we are honored to bring our proven digital engineering and training ecosystem to MDA as both a prime contractor and a teammate,” said Kurt Flosky, President of Arotech’s Training & Simulation Division. “FAAC’s commercially deployed, high-fidelity solutions allow warfighters to train and rehearse for complex, high-risk scenarios—ultimately improving mission effectiveness, survivability, and affordability.”

Proven Prototyping and Faster-Than-Real-Time Capabilities

FAAC brings decades of experience developing and fielding advanced simulation technologies for U.S. and allied forces. This includes its faster-than-real-time Zone Acquisition Process (ZAP) avionics product and a long history of shepherding prototype concepts from initial development through fielded operational capability. FAAC’s iterative engineering, customer-engagement approach, and rapid delivery cycles align directly with SHIELD’s mission-focused prototyping and integration needs.

Enhancing Warfighter Decision Speed

FAAC’s Threat Weapon Engagement Zone (TWEZ) system—currently operational on multiple U.S. fighter platforms—provides real-time threat warning, decision aid support, and avoidance modeling derived from intelligence-validated threat models. Leveraging machine-learning-enabled techniques, TWEZ predicts threat behavior faster than real time and delivers actionable information to operators for timely avoidance or engagement decisions. Modular, digital-thread deployment allows rapid updates as threat capabilities evolve.

Validated Models That Drive Test, Evaluation, and Mission Confidence

FAAC’s validated weapons models support the evaluation of advanced tactics and capabilities across air-to-air, air-to-ground, and surface-launched systems. Through SimController, FAAC provides an open-architecture interface enabling integration across combat domains and supporting performance analysis against near-peer adversaries. Working with MDA and other government partners, FAAC ensures new capabilities entering operational test are informed by accurate modeling—building warfighter confidence and reducing risk.
