FAAC’s VCTS (Virtual Clearance Training Suite) is a safe, economical, and highly efficient solution for training engineer vehicle and equipment operators in every aspect of the explosive defeat mission.
Delivered as a set of four or five entirely self-contained, networked semi-trailers, the VCTS includes four high-fidelity fully immersive MPCV Buffalo vehicle simulators with coordinated visual and motion cues, two reconfigurable vehicle simulators (easily swapped from Panther MRAP to RG-31) with .50 caliber gunner’s stations (fitted with head-mount VR display), a variety of simulated vehicle-mounted mine detection system and optic sensory systems, and an MTRS Talon simulator with OEM controls. The system includes simulated in-vehicle communication networks and systems, via which the instructors (in a separate classroom trailer) communicate with the training crew. The classroom trailer includes the Instructor Operator Stations (IOS) and seats up to 18 students, for individual, crew, or collective training and after-action review.
The included learning software package is pre-loaded with 40 hours of basic and advanced training scenarios (with automatic or instructor scoring, jump-back, and after-action review capture capabilities). The instructor can always generate new scenarios fine-tuned to address specific crew concerns, add complexity, or target desired tactics, techniques, and procedures. Scenarios can be built on generic environments (rural, urban, alpine, desert, etc.) or modeled on specific locales. Any scenario can be modified in advance or while running, with the instructor wielding full control over weather and lighting conditions, visibility, vehicle malfunctions, and other scenario elements.
The VCTS is the most configurable and flexible ground simulation training suite to date. As military assets and IED threats evolve, so will the hardware and software of your VCTS solution.
