FAAC’s interactive training simulators use high-definition video hardware to create engaging, immersive, and responsive environments. By working through these emotionally vivid branching scenarios, trainees expand their total experiential knowledge base. They don’t just develop traditional core competencies (including procedural, EMS, and medical “soft-skills”), but also hone their situational awareness and vital decision-making skills.

Although the simulator hardware itself can be as basic (and portable) as a laptop, immersive projector-based in-classroom simulators have the greatest impact because of the rich sensory feedback and the opportunity for more nuanced situations, including modifying any scenario to run under low-light/flashlight conditions. Whatever hardware is used, every Response EMS simulation solution is built around branching high-definition video scenarios, customized to suit your unique combination of protocols and challenges.

Most importantly, our simulators are instructor controlled, with advanced debriefing and scenario developmental tools. Any scenario can be made more intense and be challenging (or eased off) at any time, even while running. Afterward, effective debriefing makes it possible to mine each session for every teachable moment and opportunity for improvement.

EMS Simulation and the Continuum of Training

The Continuum of Training is a complete set of training simulators for ambulance drivers, firefighters, law enforcement, and other first responders. It integrates several networked simulation components for a true multi-level, full-cycle, immersive training solution. These solutions convincingly emulate both the physical and emotional realities of a complex scenario—including multi-unit, multi-jurisdictional incidents.

Each scenario can include a variety of settings—airports, railways, schools and playgrounds, industrial areas, city streets—and a range of weather conditions. Every scenario is fully programmable and customizable and can be modified by the trainer as it runs, keeping students on their toes. This offers all the benefits of hands-on practical training in a safe, cost-effective, and educationally rich manner.
