Air Simulation

Fast, Accurate, Adaptable, Cost-effective and Safe

Fast and accurate, FAAC training simulations and Operational Weapon Zones software allow pilots to train as they fight. Pilots gain confidence through understanding their weapons and rehearsing for combat with tactics, realistic environments, and accurate weapon performance.

According to multiple sources (including the National Training and Simulation Association and the Government Business Council), the operating costs of flight simulators are between one-fifth and one-twentieth of the cost of using live aircraft for training exercises.

Just one example: Live F-16 training costs around $7,500 per hour. The same hour spent on simulation-based training is just $900—with nearly zero risk of an accident or injury.

FAAC’s Air Warfare Simulation Division (AWS) represents the original core of our company, founded in 1971 to provide high-speed accurate weapon simulations for the original training range USN/USAF Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) systems developed to better prepare pilots for combat operations. This has grown into supporting newer generations of training ranges, such as P5, TCTSII, TACTS/ACTS, AARI, and other systems.

Air Warfare Simulation Division (AWS)

FAAC’s AWS Division is the primary commercial supplier for many military training and weapons simulation systems. Our suite of real-time asset and weapon simulation systems are built on more than 50 years of experience developing end-to-end military simulations.  Current FAAC Air Combat Training Simulation solutions include threat environment simulation, weapon system analysis software, weapon system trainers, and air combat training ranges with integrated Instructor Operating Systems (IOS) and highly adaptable low-cost flight simulator options. Our mission is to assist the Air Force, Marines, and other military operations in developing the most advanced aircraft simulation systems, ensuring that the training received by the pilot and aircrew translates into real-world combat scenarios.

Over 50 Years

Our 50+ years of weapon simulation and software development experience is used to provide our customers with the best training and tactical software possible.

Over our first half-century, we have had innumerable accomplishments and successes resulting from the contributions of our dedicated team members and the customers who placed their faith in us to support their training and simulation objectives. Our customers’ involvement and feedback have guided and motivated us over the years to develop new ideas and to deliver right-fidelity solutions that have meaningful impact – be it supporting our warfighters in the cockpit, soldiers in the field, public safety personnel on the street, or transit operators behind the wheel.  Not only have our customers made us a part of their experience but additionally they have helped us showcase these solutions throughout the world.

Weapon Simulation Technology

Our weapon simulation technology established and maintains the standard for real-time weapons assessment. This capability was eventually brought from the training world to the tactical world through the incorporation of the Zone Acquisition Program (ZAP) into the fighter’s Operational Flight Program. ZAP was a revolutionary leap in capability for the US and FMS warfighter, replacing low-fidelity coefficient-driven algorithms, with accurate high-speed simulations.

Air Warfare Training Customer-for-Life

FAAC embraces a “Customer for Life” philosophy. We invest time in understanding your assets and objectives, work closely with your team to develop and deliver the appropriate simulation solution, and help you find the best way to integrate this custom solution into your training procedures. Most importantly, we support you in maintaining and evolving this solution as your policies, assets, and challenges inevitably change over time.

We don’t sell equipment; we partner with agencies and their instructors to develop their ideal tools for Air Force pilot training. Using simulated fighter aircraft interiors, the flying experience obtained within the simulation can translate into real-life skills used on the job. Whether your pilots are preparing for “dogfighting” air-to-air combat scenarios, air-to-surface missile usage, or any other skill set, FAAC can provide high-fidelity simulated training missions that will have a real impact on pilot performance.
