FAAC Incorporated Named Founding Member of M-Air, U-M’s Low-Altitude Economy Research Partnership

FAAC, an Ann Arbor software and simulation leader, will contribute airspace simulation technology, UAS tracking instrumentation, and engineering support to advance M-Air’s unmanned systems research.

ANN ARBOR, MI – July 31, 2026 — FAAC Incorporated (FAAC), an Ann Arbor-based software and simulation development company, today announced it has been named a founding industry member of M-Air, the University of Michigan’s advanced air mobility research initiative. As a founding member, FAAC will contribute its airspace simulation software platform, UAS tracking instrumentation, and engineering expertise to help M-Air researchers rehearse, plan, and analyze unmanned aircraft operations before they ever leave the ground.

“This partnership positions us at the forefront of the nation’s emerging advanced air mobility ecosystem,” said Kurt Flosky, President of FAAC Incorporated. “We are excited to partner with M-Air to bring our simulation and software expertise directly into the research and testing environment where the future of unmanned systems is being shaped.”

FAAC’s participation in M-Air is amplified by the capabilities of its sister companies, Battlespace Simulations (BSI) and Inter-Coastal Electronics (ICE). Together, FAAC, BSI, and ICE bring M-Air a complete UAS/cUAS capability stack: from constructive simulation and mission rehearsal through live instrumentation and after-action review, making every research mission safer, more informed, and more operationally relevant.

“Being a founding member of M-Air puts FAAC on the leading edge of the low-altitude economy, and it lets us support that movement directly with our simulation and engineering products,” said Chris Caruana, Executive Vice President of FAAC Incorporated. “But this partnership works both ways. Working side by side with M-Air’s leadership, student groups, researchers, and industry partners gives us direct, real-world feedback on how our technology is actually used — feedback that helps us refine our products and better understand the needs of the broader UAS community. That kind of insight doesn’t come from a lab alone, and it will make us a better partner not just to M-Air, but to our customers and partners across the board.”
