Combat Training Centers Home Station Aviation Force on Force (CHAFF) Contract Award

On 28 June 2024, Inter-Coastal Electronics (ICE) was awarded a $94 million 5-year IDIQ contract from Product Manager, Forces Training System (PM FTS), Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).  This contract supports Combat Training Centers Home Station Aviation Force on Force (CHAFF) and will enable the US Army to provide a more realistic Air Defense Threat to support Force on Force training exercises utilizing rotary aircrafts and ground forces at Army Combat Training Centers (CTCs) and home stations.

CHAFF will include Training Aircraft Survivability Equipment Stimulation Suite (TASS) components on Army Aviation platforms that interface with ground threat systems and simulate Threat air defense system attacks, activating visual and auditory cockpit warnings and indicators of a Threat Attack that requires pilots to take appropriate action to avoid being engaged. This world class ICE training system will enhance readiness and training, increase survivability and reduce training costs at Army CTCs and home stations.  ICE is proud and humbled by the opportunity to provide these cutting-edge training enablers in support of the US Army’s training ecosystem.
