Bill Martin, FAAC Public Safety Business Manager, is excited to share new developments in high-fidelity, simulation-based fire service training,  (especially for pump operations) at FDIC International this April.

“There are some new features with inCommand and Pump-Ops,” Bill notes. “We’ve gone to an updated platform, and incorporated many improvements behind the scenes and under the hood, so to speak, giving us better tools to create better simulations. But users will immediately notice the leap ahead in graphics and modeling.”

FAAC is looking forward to attending the Fire Department International Conference (FDIC) this year (April 17-20, 2024, Indiana Convention Center, Booth 13077, Indianapolis, IN). Bill will attend with a team of FAAC experts ready to discuss and demonstrate innovations and updates to their line of immersive training simulators, including inCommand and Pump-Ops.

FDIC International is North America’s Leading Firefighter Conference and the world’s largest fire service event. It regularly features 800+ exhibitors and hosts more than 35,000 fire/rescue professionals from around the world. Participants enjoy access to world-class instructors, workshops, and Hands-on Training (H.O.T.) evolutions, as well as hundreds of conference sessions and live demonstrations.

This year FAAC will be showcasing a side-mount Pump-Ops panel, an inCommand station, and an immersive VR prototype that incorporates elements of both Pump-Ops and inCommand for extremely portable any-time training.

“Every scenario you run within inCommand is completely customizable,” Bill explains. “You can create different sizes of spill; hazardous and non-hazardous materials; with or without fire, explosions, vapors, fumes, smoke, all flowing or blowing in various ways. You can customize over 100 different environments, which can be geo-typical or geo-specific. You can control the severity or the amount of destruction. There can be bystanders, injuries, people wandering into the scene, other agencies arriving. You can create the  event and magnify it as much as you need to in order to give your responders the proper experience and preparation.”

Phil Duczyminski (a FAAC training specialist and veteran certified fire instructor) will also be on hand this year to field questions and help attendees put FAAC’s sims through their paces. “Each year,” Phil says, “FAAC has been able to make improvements that we are proud to share with show attendees who stop by. It is very exciting to see customers demo our products at the show and see their reactions to how realistic the PumpOps simulator is and how accurately it simulates their actual pumper.”

Bill and other experts from FAAC will be at FDIC 2024 April 17-20 at the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN, at Booth #13077. We look forward to seeing you there, but if you can’t make it, don’t hesitate to contact us whenever you’re ready.
