FAAC’s award-winning Transit Simulators are designed exclusively for the transit industry and draw on our decades of broad experience in training technology and vehicle simulation.
The MB 2000 bus driver training system has a full cab with authentic controls. Cabs can be configured to match the precise layout of controls, indicators, gauges, and switches in your actual fleet vehicles. The multi-screen, high-definition display system provides a geometrically correct 340º field-of-view, so trainees can look past 90 degrees to observe key reference points. Real working physical mirrors are combined with simulation scenarios that emphasize each mirror’s purpose and proper use, helping operators master one of the most challenging aspects of piloting a large vehicle. The MB 1000 offers many of the same advantages and capabilities on a more economical platform.
Either can be customized to match your fleet and train the operators of almost any transit vehicle. Every simulator comes with pre-programmed lessons emphasizing correct mirror usage, proper handling of temporary visual obstructions, managing pivot points, and other critical training objectives. FAAC’s programmable simulation software supports a completely customizable mix of traffic densities and characteristics, weather conditions, pedestrian and vehicle behaviors, and more—all of which can be adjusted by the instructor in advance or in real time.
But technology is only half the solution. Over and over again, our customers find that the real value in an integrated, immersive bus operator simulation training solution is its opportunities for trainers to pinpoint exactly where their students are succeeding and falling short and prepare them for everyday tasks and low-frequency, high-risk events.
