In a charged political climate, use of force training must go beyond sharpening reflexes, developing muscle memory, and keeping skills fresh. Law officers need to hone a complete set of decision-making tools.
Instructors increasingly report that they don’t just want to prepare officers for the physical facts of using force; they need to prepare officers for the emotional realities of real-life use-of-force situations.
MILO Range—FAAC’s custom immersive use-of-force training system—can be as simple as a single-screen simulator with basic IR-laser fitted training weapons (matching the weapons used by your agency). Or it can be as complex as a multi-screen “shoothouse” or fully immersive 300-degree motion-tracking surround “theater.”
Regardless of size or complexity, every MILO Range system includes both skill-focused modes (with a variety of “firing range” and CGI live-action exercises) and customizable interactive HD video role-play scenarios. All systems support multiple trainees with multiple weapons. Skill-focused modes include real-time shot feedback and analysis, both static and moving targets, and over 60 exercises. HD video scenarios offer full emotional immersion with branching decision trees, and tools for after-action decision analysis and replay. Any system can be upgraded with firearm recoil kits, live-fire/laser options, shootback systems, and more.
Despite the name, MILO Range is not limited to simple firearms training. Any HD scenarios can be run in interactive low-light/flashlight conditions. Separate scenarios are designed for practicing less-lethal tools (baton, taser, OC spray, etc.), critical incident response, situational awareness, community policing, judgment skills, active listening, and de-escalation.
FAAC solutions go beyond the simulation. Over and over again trainers and instructors report that the real value in their integrated, immersive use-of-force training solution is in the opportunities it creates to pinpoint exactly where their students are succeeding and falling short. FAAC offers tools to facilitate after-action debriefing, analyze trainee performance, and create custom scenarios unique to your needs. We train your trainers to train your policy. As those policies change, so can your simulation.
FAAC embraces a “Customer for Life” philosophy. We invest time in understanding your needs and policies in order to develop and deliver the appropriate turnkey solution. We’ll help you find the best way to integrate this custom solution into your training procedures, and support you in maintaining and evolving this solution as your policies and challenges change over time.
We don’t sell equipment; we partner with agencies and their instructors to develop and create their ideal custom training solution.
