Controlled Response to Crisis Situations

We win every fight that never starts. When police baton training is limited to guards, blocks, strikes, knockdown power, and baton control, then we can expect to see ourselves on the local news and angry protesters in the street. When our baton training expands to include situational awareness and de-escalation, we reap the benefits of improved community relations and decreased officer injury and loss of life. Police baton training must go beyond tactical choices or physical techniques, and instead allow the officer to make trained decisions that maximize safety for both the officer and the community.

Police Baton Training

The baton training simulation solutions are built on the same high-definition simulation platform as MILO. These multi-screen motion-tracking surround “theaters” create an emotionally immersive role-playing environment.  Every system comes with a standard library of generic scenarios, and can also be expanded to include custom scenarios to meet the training demands of your agency and community. Your instructor controls the branching decision tree as officers navigate challenging interactions with suspects, citizens, and other responders.  Officers have an opportunity to exercise every facet of use of force from fine-tuning their presence and tone of voice to employing specific de-escalation or force options.  Throughout every scenario, the instructor can make adjustments to hone their students’ situational awareness, community policing, active listening, and de-escalation skills. Every scenario can be run in interactive low-light/flashlight conditions. As a result, law enforcement officers can train for a variety of situations in which baton use might be necessary, whether in the course of an arrest, self-defense, or any other scenario that can arise in the course of patrol. As a less-lethal option, impact weapons like the baton allow law enforcement to utilize an appropriate amount of force for the situation – but only when they’ve undergone an immersive training course.

Training your Trainers to Train your Policy

Over and over again trainers and instructors report that the real value in their integrated, immersive baton training solution is in the opportunities it creates for officers to find every opportunity for de-escalation, and see the ramifications of each force option. We train your trainers to train your policy. As those policies change, so will your simulation.
